Q – We are planning to travel to Indonesia before heading on to Australia, and was bogged down with the sheer size of Indonesia. What itinerary would you suggest for us or where are the areas we should cover in Indonesia. Unfortunately, we only have 2 weeks before we need to get to Australia. We love a good mix of culture and history with some adventure, as we both dive. Can you please recommend us an itinerary?

Q – I am traveling as a solo female traveler to Indonesia and plan to travel for about 3 weeks. Where would you recommend that I go to which is safe and also good?
So far Rachel had also traveled as a solo female traveler across Java in Indonesia, therefore that would be recommended by me, and also off to the nearby tourists’ sites that are popular and well traveled.
In trying to cover the top 10 must-visit places in Indonesia and play around with our 2 weeks travel itinerary, you may have a few nice additional places.
Day 1 – Jakarta

Day 2 to 4 – Yogyakarta
If you want to save a day before or more time, you may fly directly into Yogyakarta, or if you are in Jakarta and would like to go by land, the scenic train ride is recommended. Yogyakarta is popular for the biggest Buddhist temple in the world, Borobudur and the ancient Hindu temple of Prambanan. Yogyakarta has also a lot to offer besides, such as arts, culture, history and everything else. 3 days in Yogyakarta would only give you a taste of what there is but good enough for our current itinerary.

Day 5 to 7 – Mount Bromo
From there move on to Mount Bromo at Eastern Java. This is one of our top must visit places in Java. Its sunrise view over the famous Bromo volcanic crater is the favourite among travellers. Once you got enough of the sunrise, grab some breakfast before trekking onwards to the mouth of the active volcanic crater. On the way you will also find a Hindu temple to visit. Thereon, you would head to Banyuwangi to catch a bus to get over to Bali.

Day 8 to 14 – Bali
With 7 days to explore, you would be able to cover most of the Bali’s must visit places. In between, take the time to relax at some of the best beaches of Bali, eat the best foods, catch the famous Kecak Dance performance, visit some of the best temples in Bali and if you have the mood, try out some top activities in Bali.
